Find out what our Learning team has going on for teachers and students this autumn, with events taking place in person and online.
With schools back in session, now is a great time to plan ahead for the rest of the year. We have a range of events planned, from online broadcasts to in-person teacher development sessions, to help engage young people in Shakespeare and inspire teachers to use rehearsal room techniques in the classroom.
Teacher CPD events return
Join us for our RSC Certificate in Teaching Shakespeare and experience how techniques developed in our rehearsal rooms can create inclusive, engaging and inspiring learning opportunities for students of all ages and stages. These upcoming sessions will follow the government's Covid-19 guidelines, and are currently scheduled to be in-person at the Clore Learning Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Save the dates for our Magician's Elephant events
With The Magician's Elephant opening next month, we have two dates to put in your diaries for special events suitable for KS2-5.
- Student Insight Sessions, 18 November 2021 - in these pre-show sessions students are invited to join members of the acting company and creative teams in the theatre to explore how we brought The Magician's Elephant to life on stage.
- Primary Open Day, 25 November 2021 - during this day, school groups can take part in a range of activities and experiences, including an on-stage session with members of the company and practical workshops, before watching an afternoon performance of the show.
Schools' Broadcast: The Tempest
We will be bringing the 2016 production of The Tempest into classrooms from 15-19 November. The production was memorable for Simon Russell Beale's performance as Prospero and the unique way that Ariel was brought to life as a digital avatar, interacting with the rest of the cast on stage.

Online student workshops
Over November and December, we will be offering online workshops on Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet and The Tempest for secondary Drama and Theatre Studies students. These sessions use rehearsal room techniques to help students unlock the plays and can be tailored to the needs of the individual groups.
