Watch as Shakespeare Nation participants perform across Bradford, in a range of locations and languages.
Bradford Theatres have released a new film as part of our Shakespeare Nation partnership.
The film sees people across the city performing the "All the world's a stage" speech from As You Like It, in languages ranging from English to Wolof.
Participants were recruited by Bradford Alhambra earlier this year and had the chance to take part in online workshops with RSC voice coach Michael Corbidge before filming their speeches. This follows on from the film produced by last year's group, Shakespeare by Candlelight, where they individually performed around a flame as part of the Signal Fires storytelling project.
ABOUT SHAKESPEARE NATION
Shakespeare Nation is a four-year long project, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, aimed at encouraging more adults to experience Shakespeare and live theatre at their local theatres.
Each year RSC productions visit towns and cities across the UK, sharing our work with over 30,000 people. Yet we know that many within these communities still feel that Shakespeare and theatre don't belong to them. We've partnered with six regional theatres in Blackpool, Bradford, Canterbury, Norwich, Nottingham and Truro for the Shakespeare Nation Project, working to engage those communities that find us hard to reach, helping them experience our work, Shakespeare and the transformative power of theatre.
