Teachers from our Associate Schools, theatre artists and practitioners all came together in Stratford-upon-Avon in November for our Connected Symposium.

This annual get together is a key part of our Associate Schools Programme, which brings together teachers, theatre practitioners and artists.

"It was a truly inspirational two days full of energy, new ideas and creativity and we’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped organise and make it such a great success."

A welcome from our Acting Artistic Director Erica Whyman was followed by:

  • A talk from Artistic Director Emeritus Gregory Doran about the 'lost plays' and the First Folio
  • Workshops and discussions about 37 Plays, playmaking with young people and research
  • Discussion on key outcomes and the future growth and development of the Associate Schools Programme, confirming the programme's principles of improving literacy, language development and pushing the boundaries of teaching Shakespeare are still key drivers for teachers and practitioners
Teacher

"All of it was a highlight – but the ability to experience rehearsal practice in unison with practitioners from around the country was a standout experience."
