The RSC is in its eleventh year of working in an exclusive partnership with Education in Motion, delivering an arts education programme in eleven of its schools across Asia.
The partnership
RSC Learning works in partnership with Education in Motion (EiM) delivering arts education in eleven of its schools in Asia. Since 2016, this decade-long collaboration has transformed young’s people’s experiences of Shakespeare in classrooms across Asia through a programme that includes teacher CPD, artist residencies, workshops, masterclasses, and an annual Shakespeare performance festival.
In May 2026, the RSC and EiM were awarded Cultural Partnership of the Year at the UK-China Business Awards, recognising a deep cultural collaboration that uses the power of Shakespeare’s plays and the RSC’s award-winning rehearsal room approaches to improve learning outcomes and unlock potential.
Engaging more than 2,000 young people aged five to eighteen, teachers, and parents each year, the partnership includes a wide range of opportunities that deepen their knowledge and understanding of Shakespeare’s work.
At the heart of the partnership is a shared belief that the arts transcend cultures and should form an essential part of every young person’s educational journey. As well as enhancing teaching practice, the collaboration has helped pupils grow in confidence and take ownership of Shakespeare’s universal stories by exploring them through their own identities, experiences and cultural heritage.
