Last year we sold over 10,000 discounted tickets for people with disabilities or their carers for Stratford-upon-Avon performances. We held 118 assisted performances which included 45 captioned, 45 audio described and 23 with a British Sign Language interpreter.

We believe that Shakespeare and live theatre is for everyone and we want everything we do to be accessible to all our audiences. We have been offering assisted performances since the late 1990s and we continue to work on breaking down barriers so more people can enjoy theatre at its best.

Your support will:

  • Provide more assisted performances including British Sign Language integrated, captioned, relaxed and audio described
  • Help offer discounted tickets for patrons who are Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent.
  • Help fund innovative theatre techniques to improve access, including hand held captioning devices.
