October Half Term Activities

Activities for families and young people from Sunday 25 October - Sunday 1 November

From storytelling and stage combat to costumes, crafts and creepy crawlies, come to the RSC for a week of creative family activities inspired by the world of theatre and Halloween.

DROP IN TO THE THEATRE

During the week drop into the theatre where you'll find different Halloween inspired craft every day in the Welcome Space and a photobooth near the Swan Theatre complete with props and accessories to try on.

You can visit The Play's The Thing to discover 400 years of theatre making any day from noon.

On Wednesday 28 October, we will open The Play's The Thing exhibition one hour early (11am) for a 'Quiet Hour', especially suitable for young people who may prefer a more relaxed environment to explore the exhibits.

Storytelling: Shakespeare's Magical Mysteries

Get the whole family involved with a fun, bitesize storytelling session all about Shakespeare's Magical Mysteries. Take a journey through the play with a mixture of actor-led storytelling, play, drama games and exercises. A gentle, imaginative workshop for all the family - perfect for 4-8 year olds.

Children must be accompanied by a parent/carer who also require a ticket.

Family Stage Combat

Explore stage combat techniques like a professional actor in this introductory workshop for the whole family led by a trained stage combat practitioner. Create fight sequences and cover the basic rules and moves of Stage Combat. Suitable for all the family. No experience necessary.

Halloween Costume Making

Blood, Guts and Gore

"Quite disgusting but absolutely brilliant!". Enjoy interactive demonstrations showing the tips and tricks the RSC uses for gruesome special effects, wigs, costumes, make-up, and much more.
