The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui
The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui is a play in which Brecht satirises Hitler’s ascent to power using the setting of 1930s Chicago. The Great Depression inflicts hardship across the nation, and the underworld festers with scandal, violence, and corruption. The production includes the representation of far-right ideology, including direct references to Nazism and the use of xenophobic and ableist language. The production also features other forms of strong language.
