Our productions of Much Ado About Nothing over the years have included the many famous actors playing the sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick: Peggy Ashcroft and John Gielgud in 1950; Geraldine McEwan and Christopher Plummer in 1961; Judi Dench and Donald Sinden in 1976; Sinead Cusack and Derek Jacobi in 1982; and Meera Syal and Paul Bhattacharjee in 2012.
